Nike Advert

I made this advert as part of my coursework for Unit 2 of my BTEC Level 2 in Creative Digital Media. I began by researching existing Nike adverts and analyzing them. From this, I began drafting storyboards and developing concepts for my own advert. I then completed all of the production elements whilst working from home during the first lockdown (summer 2020). I built a custom turntable using parts from an electronics kit I had. I created several prototype platforms one of which was made using polystyrene plates. Then once I was ready I contacted my Design & Technology teacher who allowed me to use the school’s laser cutter to make my final platform. They sent me a sketch for the best way to design the platform given the limited size of the cutting bed. I then made the design in 2D Design (a CAD software). My teacher cut and glued it together for me as they were still working in school and sent it to me. Once I received this, I checked the balance of the shoe with the turntable in action and then I was ready to begin filming.

Here you can see the components list and connection guides I used from the electronics kit to create the turntable. I also used the software included with the electronics kit to program the motor to spin using an IR sensor and remote.

The first image is the final turntable design as well as some behind-the-scenes photos of how I created the final product.
